Upon
the recommendation of the Economic and Consultative Council and in line with the
directive of His Majesty King Abdullah II Bin Al – Hussein to activate and raise
the performance of technical and vocational education and training institution
in the Kingdom, work on establishing the institute started in August 2000, for
the purpose of which a National Taskforce was formed to include all parties
concerned with training the trainers from the public and private sectors.
With the support of the European
Union Commission and the Euro – Jordanian Action for the Development
of Enterprise (EJADA), and within the framework of economic reform,
the establishment of the Institute was financed as part of Al-
Balqa’ Applied University, in view of its capabilities in terms of
finances, materials and human resources that would lead to the
establishment of a serious and comprehensive project in the field of
training the trainers on the national and regional levels.
